French Country Cushions: Simple Ways to Add French Charm
When decorating a new French home or château it can be overwhelming. Where do you start? What style do you adopt, or does your own personal style fit the new home? My personal recommendation is to start slowly and build into what you love over time, and what works well for you. That way you can avoid expensive mistakes and regret. An ideal starting point is with cushions, or better still, just new cushion covers. As a relatively inexpensive item, in the grander scheme of things, I believe that cushions can be used to instantly change the mood of a room. They can highlight a colour, bring interesting textures into the room, change the focal point of the room or even bring a rather eclectic collection of patterns together.
My French country home has a cosy mixture of fabrics, different artwork styles, and collected furniture pieces. Cushions play a big part in drawing the various elements together, while also providing practical comfort and adding that cosy lived-in feeling.
