Bizarre Things I've Packed in my Suitcase

When packing for a trip to France I usually follow my own advice and my various packing tips in my posts and guides

  • 8 Tips on How to Look Parisian and Not a Tourist... however, this trip my suitcase looks different, very different. Some things may seem bizarre, but once you know what they're for, I think it will make more sense. It does to me, and I thought you might like to get an insider's view of how planning ahead and doing what might seem bizarre can be necessary when living between two homes in both hemispheres. Believe me, it can get a little weird and wacky at times!

Do you always carry too much luggage? Do you struggle to decide what to pack?

On my recent trip I once again packed following my own guidelines as posted in 10 Simple Packing Tips to Stop Pre-Travel Trauma and, by wearing on the plane the bulkiest jacket and shoes that were part of the wardrobe for this trip, managed to have enough outfits and options for my 4 week trip.  I am a firm believer in mixing and matching outfits and only pieces that can be worn in many ways get to be part of any travel wardrobe.

In fact, the swimmers and a couple of the summer tops that I took were never worn as, once again, the UK and France were not quite as warm as I expected!  Going between such differing climates of the northern and southern hemispheres can be challenging when deciding what to pack.
