A collaboration between two authors, one photographer and the Deputy Mayor of Paris for Culture this book is a new and original way of finding new favourite places in a city that abounds with choices for the traveler.
Barbara Boespflug, entertainment director of a media agency; Beatrice Billon, publicity director of a advertising agency and Pierre-Olivier Signe, photographer specialising in cinema, concert and travel photography have researched, written and photographed 101 legendary addresses that have inspired and been featured in movies filmed in Paris.
Finding the Locations by Arrondissement
The Film Lover’s PARIS divides the 101 film shoot locations by arrondissement. With each arrondissement having its one section in the book with a full list of locations and maps pinpointing them it is easy to navigate. The reader can then turn to the full page of detailed information about each location.
Information about the movie, the main characters, the actors and actresses and tips for tourists are artfully set out. With dining at cafés featured in movies, strolling the streets where famous scenes have been filmed, swimming in secret pools or peeking in at the glamorous hotel lobbies you could be walking in the steps of your most admired actor or actress.

The film Amélie
Loving the film and character of same name, Amélie played by the accomplished French actress Audrey Tatou, makes visiting the grocery store Au Marché de la Butte in Montmartre, watching a film at Studio 28 and eating at cafe Le Verre À Pied, all locations in the film, a real highlight for me.
Amélie also spends a lot of time in the café called Les Deux Moulins (the two windmills) and when I had lunch here it was a surreal experience. (see my photo above) There’s lots of memorabilia related to the film and diners seem to enjoy the vibe. The toilets are especially decorated.
The film Midnight in Paris
Some quirky locations I also love that change things up a bit are Deyrolle, the mansion filled with taxidermied animals and the historical monument Saint-Étienne du Mont, both featured in the feel good movie Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen and starring Owen Wilson.
The film The Tourist
When in Paris, everyone needs their own Angelina Jolie moment just like in The Tourist, sitting back watching the world go by while drinking a champagne at Le Nemours at Place Colette beside the Palais Royal (see photo above).
But, if you can’t make it to Paris, right now, then watching great films is the perfect travel escape.
